Kidnappers of Katsina Catholic priests under Bishop Kukah Diocese demand N100m ransom

The terrorists who kidnapped the two Catholic priests from Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Gidan Mai Kanbu in Kafur Local Government Area, Katsina State, demanded a ransom of N100 million before they could release religious people ; said a source close to the confirmed families.
The two clerics in charge of the parish of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto led by popular Bishop Matthew Kukah were kidnapped seven days ago.





The priests, Reverend Father Stephen Ojapa and Reverend Oliver Okpara were abducted alongside two others by terrorists operating in the Funtua area in the early hours of Wednesday.
It was also found that a week after the last attack on Mai Kanbu, a predominantly Christian community, terrorists also attacked another Christian community, Gidan Jinjiri Huguma, also in Kafur local government area in the early hours of tuesday.

The attack, at ECWA Church, Gidan Girbau around Gidan resulted in the kidnapping of two women – Jamila Yunusa, 22, pregnant, Jamila Ali, 25, and her 1-year-old child.
Meanwhile, the police and other authorities have made no official statement about the abduction of the clerics.
